Trojans, Panthers Win Morrison Track Invite

The Cedarville Trojans boys and the Pickford Panthers girls teams captured the Web Morrison Track and Field Invitational championship Saturday, April 26.

For the boys, the Trojans tallied 126 points, followed by North Central with 114, Pickford 69, Rudyard 56, DeTour 53, Bloomingdale 40, Rogers City 34, Brimley 29, and Mackinac Island 2.

For the girls, Pickford totaled 142 points, followed by North Central with 96, Brimley 94, Rudyard 49, Bloomingdale 30, Mackinac Island 26, DeTour 26, Cedarville 20, and Rogers City 19.

Boys Individual Results

Cedarville: C.J. Paquin, first in 100-meter dash (12.73), 200- meter dash (25.45), and long jump (16'0"); Kevin Thompson, first in pole vault (10'6"), fourth in high jump and high hurdles; Jordan Baker, second in high and low hurdles, fifth in long jump and high jump; Tyler Kanitz, third in high hurdles, fifth in low hurdles; Cody Thompson, third in high jump; Clayton Meyers fourth in 400 and fifth in 800; Matthew Schlosser fifth in the 3200; Jason Duncan, sixth in long jump; Jordan Huff, sixth in discus; Sheldon Tassier, sixth in 800; and Paul Eberts, sixth in 100.

The Trojans 1600-meter relay team took first (4:05.00) and the 3200 relay (9:17.25) and 400 relay teams took second.

Pickford: Richard Gibson, first in 1600-meter dash (5:02.39), fourth in the 800; Jonah Hascall, second in pole vault; Mickael Cantin, third in long jump, fourth in shot put; Joe Jenkins, third in discus, sixth in shot put; Jordan Potter, fourth in discus, fifth in shot put; Cody Becks, fourth in pole vault; Pat Savoie, fifth in 400.

The Panthers 400- and 800- meter relay teams placed second and the 3200 relay took fifth.

Rudyard: Tony Falbo, first in high jump (6'2"), second in long jump; Brady Burby, second in shot put, fourth in long jump; Isiah Otten, third in 3200; Drew Otten, third in 400; Justin LaCoursiere, sixth in long jmp; A.J. Jones, sixth in high hurdles.

The Bulldogs 400-meter relay team finished third, and its 1600- meter relay team took fourth, while its 800 foursome placed fifth.

DeTour: Teryn Miller, first in 3200 (11:36.81), second in high jump, third in 1600; Mathias Kirstensen, third in 100; Max Peterson, sixth in 200.

The 800-meter relay team of Mathisa Kristensen, Kaleb Barbeaux, Andy Dyal, and Max Peterson took first (1:45.91), and the 400 relay foursome took fourth.

Brimley: Harlan Chartrand, first in 400 (56.43); Cody Bosbous, second in discus; Ryan Freedman, fifth in 100; Ty Root, fifth in high hurdles.

The team's 800-meter relay took third, while its 3200-meter relay foursome placed sixth.

Mackinac Island: Woody Beardsley, fifth in the discus.

Girls Results

Pickford: Katie Jenkins, first in discus (90'10"), first in shot put (31'3"); Katie Raynard, first in pole vault (6'6"); Rachel Reich, second in pole vault, fourth in long jump; Courtney Bruni, second in low hurdles; Jamie Rifenberg, second in high hurdles, fourth in low hurdles; Brandi Kopitz, third in 3200, fifth in 1600; Amanda Zambran, third in discus, fourth in shot; Amanda Felty third in pole vault, fourth in 400, Megan Arbic, fourth in 3200; Jenna Ledy, fourth in high jump; Krista Esslin, fifth in high hurdles; Jasmine Ledy, fifth in 800; Marlee Michalski, fifth in shot put; Rachel Schmitigal, sixth in high hurdles; Tiffany McCord, sixth in 100; Melissa Stevenson, sixth in 800.

The Panthers finished first in the 400-meter relay (59.51), 800 relay (2:06.42), and 3200 relay (11:49.0), and second in the 1600-meter relay.

Brimley: Courtney Amble, second in discus and shot put; Becca Carruthers, second in high hurdles, third in low hurdles; Kelly Graham second in 3200, third in the 1600; Jessica Graham, second in high jump; Miranda Reattoir, third in 800; Rachel Carruthers, fourth in 200, fifth in 100; Amber Aikens, fifth in 200, sixth in long jump; Lynette Carrick, sixth in 1600.

The Bays' 800- and 3200- meter relay teams placed second, and the 400 relay took fourth.

Rudyard: Brittany Hoolsema, second in 800 and 1600; Emily Markstrom, third in 200 and 400; Rebecca Malaski, sixth in 400.

The Bulldogs' 1600-meter relay team finished first (5:02.01), third in the 400 relay, and fourth in the 800 relay.

Mackinac Island: Michi Mullings, second in 100 and 200, fourth in discus.

DeTour: Danielle Weiman, third in 100, sixth in 200; Nicole Melcer, third in high jump, sixth in low hurdles; Sarah Reed, fifth in discus.

The Raiders' 400-meter relay took second, and its 800 relay placed fifth.

Cedarville: Katie Bowlby, first in long jump (13'5"); Amber St. Andrew, fifth in 400; Jillian Collins, fifth in pole vault.

The Trojans' 800-meter relay took third.
