Saints Runners Place Fourth, Fifth The St. Ignace Saints girls track and field team finished fourth and the boys team finished fifth during the Inland Lakes Invitational Monday, April 21. The following are individual and relay team results: Girls Jaimee Bloxsom, first in pole vault (8'0"); Amanda Coveyou, second in high jump; Caysey Brown, second in long jump; Nicole Elmbald, third in pole vault, sixth in 200; Kayla Gustin, third in high hurdles; Samantha Radecki, third in long jump; Anthony Lester, third in high jump; Chelsea Bosley, fourth in shot put; Kristen Olsen, sixth in high jump. Boys Kyle Smock, third in 100 and 200; Gunnar Zipp, fourth in long jump and 400; Shane Spring, fourth in high hurdles, sixth in low hurdles; Evan Everson, fifth in long jump, sixth in 400; Lucas Thurston, fifth in shot put; Caleb Litzner, fifth in low hurdles; Landon Marshall, fifth in pole vault. Relays In relay events, the girls 200- meter relay team finished third, while its freshman-sophomore relay team finished second. The 400- meter and 3200-meter girls relay teams finished third. In the 1600, the girls team and freshman-sophomore girls team finished fourth. The girls 800-meter relay team placed fifth. For the boys, relay teams took first in the 400 (46.56), 800 (1:39.23), and the 1600 (3:47.52). Saints To Host Kiwanis Track Invite The Saints will host the St. Ignace Kiwanis Track Invitational Friday, May 2, with field events to begin at 3:30 p.m. Twelve teams are invited to compete for individual medals and team honors. Teams include St. Ignace, Mackinac Island, Rudyard, Newberry, Cedarville, Pickford, Brimley, Engadine, DeTour, Manistique, Munising, and Inland Lakes. |
