Beatrice Lasky

Beatrice Lasky, 92, of Engadine, was a registered nurse from Ohio who lived at Hiawatha Sportsman's Club after her retirement. Mrs. Lasky died Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Newberry Assisted Living Community, where she had been a resident since January 2007.

Born February 8, 1916, in Perrysburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of George and Kathryn (nee Johnson) Scheider.

She was a 1937 graduate of Robinwood Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio, obtaining a registered nursing degree.

She married Clarance Rossow May 2, 1937, in Angola, Indiana.

Following the death of Mr. Rossow in 1959, she married Carl Lasky in 1961.

Mrs. Lasky lived in Custar, Ohio, retiring from Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, Ohio. The couple moved to the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club near Engadine August 1, 1978.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newberry, the VFW Post #8372 Ladies Auxiliary of Engadine, and a "Trail Blazer" of the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club.

Mr. Lasky died in 1979.

Mrs. Lasky is survived by three children and their families, Mary Ann and Tom Clements of Custar, Linda and Randy Gallier of Naubinway, and James and Cindy Rossow of Bowling Green; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy Fox of Perrysburg.

Services were held Thursday, May 1 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newberry with Pastor LaVonne Stephenson officiating. Friends called at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry Wednesday, April 30, with a VFW Ladies Auxiliary memorial service at 6 p.m.

Interment will take place at Milton Township Cemetery in Wood County, Ohio.
