Cedarville Boys, Pickford Girls Finish First at Robert W. Smith Track

The Cedarville Trojans boys and the Pickford Panthers girls captured first place during the Eastern Upper Peninsula track meet at the Robert W. Smith track in Cedarville Tuesday, April 29.

In the boys division, the Trojans totaled 186 points, followed by Pickford with 98, Engadine 50, Brimley 49, and DeTour 47.

In the girls division, Pickford tallied 169 points, followed by Brimley with 92, Engadine 67, Cedarville 65, and DeTour 30.

Boys individual results

Cedarville: Kevin Thompson, first in low hurdles (46.37), first in pole vault (11'0"), third in high hurdles, third in high jump; Jordan Baker, first in high hurdles (18.27), second in low hurdles, fourth in long jump, fifth in high jump; C.J. The Trojans' 400-meter relay team (50.42), 800-meter relay team (1:44.29), the 3200 relay team (9:13.71) all placed first, while its 1600-meter relay team placed second.

Pickford: Richard Gibson (triple winner), first in 1600 (4:53.06), first in 3200 (11:01.73), first in 800 (2:16.88); Joe Jenkins, second in discus, third in shot put; Mickael Cantin, second in shot put, fourth in discus, sixth in long jump; Jonah Hascall, second in pole vault; Jordan Potter, third in discus, fifth in shot put; Jamie Nettleton, third in 800; Paul Morrison, fourth in high hurdles; Tim Gough, fifth in 320- meter dash, sixth in 1600; Pat Savoie, fifth in 800.

The Panthers' 400- and 800- meter relay teams finished second, and its 1600-meter relay team placed third.

Engadine: John Troyer, first in discus (125'), first in shot put (47'); Phillip Hood, first in 100 (11.88); second in 200 and 400, fifth in high jump; David Winchester, sixth in 3200; Michael Klobucher, sixth in shot put.

Brimley: Harlan Chartrand, first in 400 (54.33), third in 200; Ryan Freedman, fourth in 100; Ken Schwiderson, fourth in 800; Ty Root, fifth in high hurdles; Cody Bosbous, fifth in discus; Julian McGinnis, sixth in 400.

The Bays' 1600-meter relay team took first (3:52.59), its 3200- meter relay team took second, and both the 400- and 800-meter relay teams placed third.

DeTour: Mathias Kristensen, first in long jump, third in 100, fourth in 200; Teryn Miller, second in 3200, second in high jump; Kaleb Barbeaux, fifth in 400; Paul Stocking, sixth in 100.

Engadine: Tia Browning, first in 100 dash (13.69), fifth in 200; Shannon Browning, second in 100; Lauren MacArthur, second in low hurdles, fourth in long jump; Shauni Rutledge, second in shot put, fourth in discus; Angela Fischer, fourth in 400; LeAnn Gribbell, fourth in low hurdles, fifth in high hurdles; Samantha Dunne, sixth in high jump; Leah Blanchard, sixth in 400.

The Eagles' 400-meter relay team took first (56.33), and the 800- and 1600-meter relay teams placed fourth.

Cedarville: Katie Bowlby, first in long jump (14'1"); Anna St. Andrew, first in 800 (2:47.72), fifth in long jump; Jillian Collins, second in pole vault; Amber St. Andrew, second in 400; Emily Winberg, fourth in 800; Savannah Madigan, fifth in 3200; Caitlin Wright, sixth in discus, Jessie Duncan, sixth in long jump.

The Trojans' 400-, 1600-, and 3200-meter relay teams finished third.

DeTour: Nicole Melcer, second in high jump, third in long jump; Danielle Weiman, fourth in 100; Laura Fussman, fifth in 800 and 1600; Sarah Reed, sixth in shot put.

DeTour's 800-meter relay team of Danielle Weiman, Kaley Barbeaux, Jessie McClellan, and Nicole Melcer finished first (finish time not available). The team's 400- meter relay foursome finished fourth.
