Mackinac Island Places in Top Three in 'Best of Best' Survey

Mackinac Island earned top finishes in three categories in Oakland Press' "Best of the Best" reader survey, conducted from mid-February to April 1.

Mackinac Island was named best historic site, finishing ahead of the Motown Museum and Henry Ford and Greenfield Village.

It finished second as best family destination, behind Traverse City and ahead of Henry Ford, and second in best vacation destination, again behind Traverse City, but ahead of the entire Upper Peninsula.

Oakland Press made its results available in a tabloid section in its May 4 edition.
