Patsy Wyers Patsy Wyers of St. Ignace operated a licensed daycare for the past 10 years, and loved children. She also worked in home health care for many years, and worked as a waitress at the former Miller's Camp, Truck Stop Restaurant, and Homestead Cafe in St. Ignace. Mrs. Wyers was 67 when she passed away Thursday morning, May 8, 2008, at her home. She was born in St. Ignace June 9, 1940, to Rita (nee McConnell) and Frederick Cobe. She was graduated from LaSalle High School in 1958. She later earned a cosmetology license through Lake Superior State University, and became a certified nurse assistant through Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace. Mrs. Wyers' yard was filled with flowers she planted every year. She married Phillip F. Wyers in 1980, and he died March 19, 1985. Mrs. Wyers is survived by a son and his family, Art and Tami Benson of Fife Lake; four daughters and their families, Christine and Mike Cooley of Lansing, Eleanor and Dan Grondin of St. Ignace, Penny Wyers of St. Ignace, and Teena and Gary Ballard Jr. of Moran; two half brothers, Robert Dumas and Victor Dumas, both of St. Ignace, and 10 grandchildren, Blake, Brandon, Alan, Amber, Samantha, Danny, Erik, Angel, Bree, and Dominic. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a stepfather, William Dumas, two brothers, Fred Cobe and William Dumas Jr., and a sister, Arlene Cobe. Memorial services were Tuesday, May 13, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Ignace. Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey officiated. Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements. |
