Boy Scouts Tour Mackinaw Museum

Saturday, May 10, members of Ann ArborTroop 4 of the Boy Scouts of America pose on the deck of the decommissioned Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw, now a floating museum docked in Mackinaw City. Pictured (front to back) are Tom Oldani, Austin Stout, John Houghton, and Robert Isenberg. Scouts in Troop 4 have been coming to the Straits of Mackinac for 20 years. They were invited to tour the ship by village resident Dick Moehl. As a member of the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum, and the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association, Mr. Moehl now facilitates outings for the scouts. They take an annual trip to the St. Helena Island Lighthouse, where they will be in mid-June.
