Pickford Girls, Boys Win Junior High Track Invitational

The Pickford Panthers girls and boys captured the championships of the Pickford Junior High Track and Field Invitational Saturday, May 10.

In the girls division, Pickford edged out St. Ignace 104.5 to 101, followed by Brimley with 79, Engadine 75, Rudyard 65, Cedarville 55, Newberry 19, and DeTour 6.5.

In the boys devision, Pickford scored 146, followed by Rudyard 98, Engadine 64, Cedarville 52, Newberry 48, St. Ignace 47, DeTour 42, Brimley 25, JKL Bahweting 2.

Girls Results

Pickford: Kristine Cline, first in 800-meter dash and long jump; Rilegh TenEyck, first in pole vault; Kristy Gough, second in high hurdles, third in low hurdles; Payton Mastaw, third in 1600-meter dash; Stacey Heard, third in 200-meter dash; Amber Colosky, third in high jump; Olivia Smith, fourth in 3200- meter dash, sixth in high jump; Victoria Cusick, fourth in 400-meter dash; Chelsea Kronemeyer, fifth in 800-meter dash; Koryn Beacom, sixth in shot put.

The Panthers took first in the 1600-meter relay, second in the 800- and 3200-meter relay, and third in the 400-meter relay.

St. Ignace: Lauren Goldthorpe, first in high jump, second in low hurdles, third in high hurdles; Alexa Thibault, first in 200; Sarah Cullip, second in 3200; Taylor Becker, second in 400; Hailee Brown, third in 70; Molly Paquin, fifth in 1600; Torie Litzner, fifth in 200; Dorothy Chargo, sixth in 1600; Autumn Huskey, sixth in 400, Lori Luepnitz, sixth in 800.

The Saints took first in the 400-, 800-, and 3200-meter relays, and second in the 1600-meter relay.

Brimley: Alexis Powell, first in 100, second in 70 and 200; Sydney Beaune, first in shot put; Whitney Frazier, second in high jump; Logan Fegan, third in 100; Megan Parish, third in 400; Taylor Wilson, fourth in long jump; Amie Baragwanath, fourth in 1600. The Bays placed fourth in the 800-meter relay, and fifth in the 400-meter relay.

Engadine: Kaitlin Hobbs, first in 70 and low hurdles; Abigail Albrecht, first in 1600; Morgan MacArthur second in long jump, fifth in 70; Jackie Formolo, second in shot put; Krista Metcalf, fourth in high hurdles; Tia Miller, fourth in 800; Lynzee Bigelow, fourth in 100.

The Eagles won second in the 400-meter relay and placed third in the 800-meter relay.

Rudyard: Leah Jarvie, first in 3200, second in 800; Morgan Zeeryp, first in high hurdles, fifth in long jump; Kayla Coffey, second in 100, fifth in high jump; Hunter Perry, third in shot put; Megan Trotter, third in 3200; Ashlee Bonnee, sixth in 70.

The Bulldogs placed fourth in the 400- and 3200-meter relay, and fifth in the 1600 relay.

Cedarville: Erin Currie, second in 1600, third in long jump; Stacy Moss, third in high jump; Tara Smith third in 800, fifth in 400; Kharizma Labinski, fourth in low and high hurdles; Jordan Chisholm, fourth in shot put; Mary Eberts, sixth in 200.

The Trojans took third in the 800- and 3200-meter relay, and sixth in the 400- and 1600-meter relay.

DeTour: Alyssa Anderson, fourth in 200, sixth in 100; Jennifer Brady, sixth in 3200; Alysan Bosley, sixth in high jump.

Boys Results

Pickford: Jordan LaVigne, first in 100, 200, and long jump; Trevor Nasser, first in 800, second in pole vault, third in 200; Brandon Hickman, first in 1600 and high jump; Cody Harrison, first in low hurdles, second in 3200; Al Brooks, first in shot put; Jared Bush, second in 800, fifth in 400; Isaac Leach, second in 1600, sixth in shot put; Danny Babinsky, fifth in high jump, sixth in 400; Tim Stallman, sixth in high hurdles.

The Panthers took first in the 3200-meter relay and sixth in both the 800- and 1600-meter relay.

Rudyard: Caleb Salo, first in 70, second in 100; Sam Mourafus, second in 400 and long jump; Scott Smith, third in long jump; Trenton Erno, third in 800; Adam Graber, third in 3200; Kyle Roe, third in low hurdles, fifth in high hurdles; Elden Salo, fourth in 200; Jared Meehan, fourth in low hurdles; Tyler Wilson, sixth in long jump; Shawn Kelly, sixth in 800; Jacob Harrison, sixth in 1600; Josh Nainan, sixth in 3200.

Engadine: Michael Beaudoin, first in 400, second in high jump and 70; Jeffrey Dishaw, first in 3200; Dylan Formolo, third in 1600, fourth in long jump; Victor Collins, third in 100; Nathan Miller, fourth in shot put; Connor Frisch, sixth in high jump.

Cedarville: Matt Hill, first in pole vault, fifth in 200; Patrick Weaver, second in low hurdles, third in high hurdles; Bobby Krachowski, fourth in 400.

The Trojans took first in the 1600- meter relay, fourth in the 800-meter relay, and fifth in the 400-meter relay.

St. Ignace: Galloway Thurston, third in shot put; Joey Snoweart, fourth in 800; Alex Belonga, fourth in 100; Patrick Sweeney, fourth in high jump; Levi Thompson, fourth in pole vault; Wyatt Orm, fifth in shot put; Nate Montie, fifth in 70; Ben Paul, fifth in 3200; Louis Radecki, sixth in pole vault.

The Saints finished second in the 800- and 3200-meter relays, and fifth in the 1600-meter relay.

DeTour: Sam Peterson, second in 200 and shot put; Kaden Barbeaux, second in high hurdles; Shane Viilo, fourth in 3200; Tyler Davis, fourth in 70, fifth in 100. The Raiders placed second in the 400-meter relay.

Brimley: Kyle Root, second in high jump; Jayman Lamoreaux, third in 70; Jayson Aikens, fourth in 1600; Ben Bryer, sixth in 100.

The Bays placed fifth in the 800- meter relay, and sixth in the 400- meter relay.

Saints Girls Second, Boys Third

During Quadrangular Meet

The St. Ignace Saints girls finished second and the boys placed third during a home quadrangular meet Thursday, May 8.

Sault Ste. Marie swept the meet, winning the girls with 104.5 points, followed by St. Ignace with 82, Rudyard 49.5, and Rogers City 7.

In the boys division, the Blue Devils won with a team points total of 102.5, followed by Rudyard with 66, St. Ignace 58.5, and Rogers City 24.
