Mackinaw Area Library To Host Silent Auction

The Mackinaw Area Public Library is seeking local businesses, organizations, and residents to donate items for the library's second annual silent auction fundraiser Monday, August 4, through Wednesday, August 13.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the library, which seeks donations including, but not limited to, gift baskets, merchandise valued at more than $10, handcrafted items, and gift certificates. Unless part of a gift basket, smaller items are discouraged.

Auction items and bid sheets will be available to the public dur- ing the library's open hours. Bidding will be open from 11 a.m. August 4 through 8 p.m. August 13. Donors of items will be listed on the bid sheets.

Items can be dropped off at the main library in Mackinaw City or at branches in Bliss, Levering, and Pellston. Arrangements may be available to pick items up. Those interested can call the main library at (231) 436-5451.

Items should be dropped off at the library by Monday, July 21, to be included in all advertising for the event. Donated items are welcome after this date and all donors will be recognized regardless of when items are donated.
