Mackintosh To Speak at DeTour Library

Graham Mackintosh, whose fourth Baja book, "Marooned With Very Little Beer," was released this spring, will speak Wednesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the DeTour Library.

He will share with the audience slides and commentary on his two months on a desert island in the Sea of Cortez.

His previous three books about Baja were "Into a Desert Place," "Baja Burro," and "Nearer My Dog to Thee." The New York Times Book Review described Mr. Mackintosh as "a great traveling companion."

Mr. Mackintosh lives in San Diego, California, giving lectures and slide shows on his trips, writing articles on Baja, and guiding tourists into Mexico on hiking, kayaking, whale watching, and winery tours.

He and his wife, Bonnie, spend a part of each summer at their home near DeTour.
