Jason and Amy (nee O'Brien) Smith of Hessel announce the birth of their daughter, Payton Joan Smith, born Monday, July 7, 2008, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. She weighed 7 pounds, 11.8 ounces at birth and measured 19.5 inches in length.

She joins a brother, Jayden, 9, at home.

Grandparents are Clark and Pat O'Brien of Cedarville, and Betty Smith and Ken Ermatinger of Hessel. Great-grandmother is Luella O'Brien of Cedarville.
