Volunteers To Paint Storm Drains Sunday

The Straits Area Watershed group hopes to raise awareness of storm drains with an activity Sunday, July 27, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion playground pavilion in St. Ignace.

Volunteers will paint the storm drains. All area storm drains will have a sign that says, "Don't dump, drains to Lake Huron." The organization wants people to recognize that whatever they put in the storm drains, on the streets, on driveways, or in their yards, will end up in the lake. This activity is open to all, and participants will be treated to ice cream at the pavilion.
