Marquette Twp. Board Uncontested

Candidates for the Marquette Township board will face no opposition in the August 5 primary election. Approximately 425 registered voters will be able to show support of the incumbent board. Those running for election are supervisor John Kronemeyer, clerk Lori Reich, treasurer Jan Fehner, and trustees William Beacom and David Lamb.

The following candidate profile was obtained from questionnaires sent by The St. Ignace News. Candidates not included here did not respond.

Township Supervisor

Incumbent Republican John Kronemeyer, 70, is a dairy farmer, who has some college experience. He and his wife have six children, who are all married and have careers. The couple also has 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Maintaining the business structure and creating new businesses, Mr. Kronemeyer said, are major issues the township continues to face, along with the ongoing challenge of improving roads.
