Junior Saints Down Trojans, Panthers

The St. Ignace Junior Saints football team defeated Sault Ste. Marie 8-0 Saturday, September 6, at Cedarville.

The game's only touchdown came late in the fourth quarter on a scoring pass from Curtis St. Louis to Zach Harrington. St. Louis completed four of 13 passes; Joey Ostman, 18 carries for 94 yards; Richard Bentley, five carries for 22 yards; Chase DeKeyser, one carry for 16 yards; Joey Krause five carries for 15 yards; Ben Byearski, three carries for eight yards. No defensive statistics were available.

The St. Ignace Junior Saints defeated Pickford 34-6 Saturday, September 13, at Rudyard.

Saints offensive statistics: Galloway Thurston, 63-yard kickoff return for touchdown, fouryard touchdown run, two pass receptions for one two-point conversion; Richard Bentley, one interception for touchdown, one fumble recovery; Joey Ostman, seven carries for 84 yards, one touchdown; Ben Byearski, one carry for 16 yards, one touchdown; Chase DeKeyser, three carries for 14 yards, one touchdown; Curtis St. Louis, four of eight passing for 52 yards, two conversion passes; Zach Harrington, two pass receptions for 11 yards, one two-point conversion; Wyatt Orm, one carry for five yards.

Saints defensive statistics: Joey Ostman, three tackles; Brennan Danielson, Cody Therrian, Curtis St. Louis, Ben Damron, three tackles; Ben Byearski, Dane Mortensen, Chris Dumas, Parker Simmons, Joe Fullerton, Dylan LeVeille, Galloway Thurston, Ben Damron, two tackles; Joe Krause, Kyle Winkelman, James Goudreau, one tackle.

St. Ignace, 2-0, will host its only game Saturday, September 20, at Saints Field against Newberry. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
