About 85 current and alumni Cedarville band students will participate in a 12-hour overnight Band-A-Thon, which starts at 7 p.m. Friday, January 2, and ends the following morning.

The 85-piece band will play in the Cedarville High School gymnasium for 45 minutes at the start of every hour, and take 15-minute breaks between sets, band director Alan Jacobus said.

The band is playing to raise money for the "Fund the Future" campaign. Donations and pledges can be made before and during the concert.

Mr. Jacobus said the band will take requests from those who donate a little extra, as well as offer the opportunity to conduct the band.
