Peanut Butter Recall List Online; Spartan Recalls Products
Three Spartan brand products are among those being recalled in a nationwide effort to remove some peanut butter products from the market, associated with the recent salmonella typhimurium outbreaks.
A Web site has been set up to list all products that have been recalled associated with Peanut Corporation of America and may be unsafe to eat as a result of salmonella contamination. The site is www.cdc.gov/socialmedia.
It is made available by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Spartan Stores announced Tuesday, February 3, that Spartan brand products being recalled are: Spartan Chocolate Covered Bridge Mix, 4 ounces, UPC code 11213-04217; Spartan Double Dipped Chocolate Peanuts, 16 ounces, UPC code 88201-00176; Spartan Bridge Mix, 18 ounces, UPC code 88201-00178.
Consumers are advised to discard these products or bring them to the store for a refund.
