Michigan Snow X Races Hit the Track Saturday

Several local snowmobile snow-cross racers will be among those competing on a track of jumps, moguls, and obstacles in a Snow X Race Saturday, February 28, at Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace. The races are a part of the 2009 Michigan Snow X Series. Spectator tickets are $10 per day. There is no admission fee for children ages six and younger.

Eastern Upper Peninsula racers planning to show their skills in the race are Jordan Bruce and Fred Luepnitz, both of St. Ignace, Dale Dunn of Cedarville, Justin Fierek of DeTour, Cody Campbell and Scott Rutledge, both of Pickford, and Heaven McGahan of Gould City.

Races can register Friday, February 27, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Kewadin Shores Casino.

Racing begins at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. The track will be built in the parking lot of the Kewadin Shores Casino on Mackinac Trail. There will be four levels of racing action, including kids, beginner, sport, and semi-pro.
