George Wellington Jr. George W. Wellington Jr., 38, of Mackinac Island, died early Sunday morning, February 22, 2009, on Lake Huron near the U.S. Coast Guard station in St. Ignace.

He was born in Petoskey to George W. Wellington Sr. and Lois Geraldine Wessel Wellington September 22, 1970.

He was a lifetime resident of Mackinac Island and was a member of the Mackinac Island Fire Department.

He worked for Dale Gough as a taxi driver.

Mr. Wellington is survived by his parents, a sister, Carrie Wellington, of Mackinac Island, two nieces, one nephew, and one great-nephew.

Arrangements are being made by Dodson Funeral Home. Services will be held at the Wellington home on Mackinac Island Tuesday morning, March 2, with time to be announced. Visitation will be at the funeral home in St. Ignace from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1.
