Edward Dodds Edward Dodds Edward W. Dodds, 38, of St. Ignace died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey, as a result of a vehicle accident.

He was born August 5, 1970, in Royal Oak.

Mr. Dodds was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, the St. Ignace men's bowling league, and he was an avid hunter. He was a USA Hockey Referee and recently officiated as a linesman for the retired Red Wings game at Little Bear East Arena.

Mr. Dodds was employed as a corrections officer at Hiawatha Correctional Facility.

He is survived by his wife, Amy (nee Smith) Dodds; three children, Jake, Haley, and Joel, at home; a brother and his family, Robert and Kelli Dodds of Novi; his mother, Carol Dodds of South Lyon; nieces and nephews, Rachel Dodds and Ryan Dodds of Novi, and Jaina Dunikowski of St. Ignace. He is also survived by a father-in-law and his family, David and Nancy Smith of Paradise; a mother-in-law and her family, Garleen and Mauri Uusitalo of Moran; a sister-in-law and her family, Kimberly and Andrew Dunikowski of St. Ignace; a stepsister-in-law and her family, Lisa and Jim Stabile and their daughter, Emily, of Petoskey; a stepbrother-in-law, Jeff Clark of Paradise, and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Dodds, and his grandparents.

Visitation was Friday, April 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Ignace. Services were Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor George Kaiser officiating. Burial was Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at North Rudyard Cemetery.

Memorials may be made for his children to a fund at U.P. State Credit Union in St. Ignace.
