He was born October 16, 1928, in Lima, Ohio, to Wanda (nee Sauer) and Bruce Sodders.

Mr. Sodders married Betty Bier February 4, 1950.

He retired early from security at the Pontiac Division of General Motors to enjoy a life that took him and his wife to many isolated places and wilderness ventures across the state and nation.

Mr. Sodders is survived by his wife; three daughters and their families, Terry Quigley of North Carolina, Bonnie and Lawrence Milburn of British Columbia, and Billie DeLude, also of North Carolina; a son, Bruce Sodders of Fair Haven; five grandchildren, Nicole DeLude, Chris Howarth, Chelsea and Evan Milburn, and Shawn Quigley; and two greatgrandchildren, Kate and Gracie DeLude. He is also survived by his extended family, special longtime friends Chuck and Tabatha Newell, and Don, Joey, and Billy. His home health nurse, Kathy Torp, and hospice counselor, Shawn Dunning, helped make his final days special. His longtime daily companion was his cat, Annie.

A "Celebration of Life" open house was held at the Sodders home in Goetzville Friday, April 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Hospice, 508 Ashmun St. Suite 120, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan 49783.

Arrangements are in the care of C.S. Mulder Funeral Home.
