Gene McLeod, 67, of Linwood passed away at his home Sunday, April 12, 2009, with his family at his side, following a brief illness.

He was born October 21, 1941, in Bay City to Cecil and Doris (nee Hewer) McLeod. He grew up in Carp River.

He married Linda L. Grawey May 15, 1970, in Saginaw.

Mr. McLeod was retired from Iron Workers Local 25. He was a member of the Estey Moose Lodge and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; three children and their families, Alfred and Vicki Mc- Leod of Posen, Georgina McLeod of Midland, and Linda and David Heuer of Texas; five grandchildren; three brothers and their families, Roy and Bessie McLeod of Gladwin, Jimmy and Rita McLeod of Dearborn Heights, and Don and Kathy McLeod of St. Ignace, and three sisters and their families, Kay and Don Reno of California, Judy and Gary VanWanbacke of West Branch, and Linda and Randy Thomas of Ohio.

A memorial service took place Wednesday, April 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Linwood with the Reverend Father Joseph Miller presiding. Inurnment was at Sunset Valley Crematory.
