Marie Paquet
Marie Paquet, 96, of Mackinaw City, died Tuesday evening, May 5, 2009, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care Facility in St. Ignace, where she had lived since 2006.
She was born in Antrim County February 3,1913, the daughter of William and Susan (nee O'Dell) Ingalls.
Ms. Paquet loved gardening and flowers. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was always canning whatever was in season. She liked knitting. She enjoyed animals of any kind, and was always taking in strays.
She is survived by a daughter and her family, Phyllis and Jim Irwin of Mackinaw City; two sons and their families, Eugene and Diane Paquet of Carp Lake and Lee Paquet of Georgia; a stepdaughter; Margaret Sommer of Midland; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Paquet was preceded in death by her parents and three sons, Anthony, Lauren, and Raymond.
Services were Friday, May 8, at 1 p.m. at the Mackinaw City Bible Church with the Reverend David Duncan officiating. Visitation with the family began at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Lake View Cemetery in Mackinaw City.
Nordman Funeral Home of Cheboygan is assisting the family.
