Annabelle Conlon

Annabelle Conlon, 94, of Rexton, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Luce County Annex Long Term Care Facility under the care of North Woods Home Health and Hospice.

She was born February 14, 1915, in Rexton, the daughter of John and Lenora (nee Berry) Marlette.

She was a lifelong area resident of the Rexton-Newberry area. She was graduated from Newberry High School in 1934.

She married Mervin Conlon February 22, 1935.

Mrs. Conlon was employed as an occupational therapist at the former Newberry Regional Mental Health Center for more than 20 years until her retirement.

A member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Newberry and the American Legion Post 74 Ladies Auxiliary, Mrs. Conlon also enjoyed gardening and craftwork.

Mrs. Conlon is survived by her children and their families, Sharon Smith of Conway, Judy and Wayne Weber of Newberry, Shirley and Jack Kisabeth of Curtis, Mike and Shirley Conlon, and Pat and Karen Conlon, all of Newberry; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine greatgreat grandchildren, and a sister, Nelda St. John, of Morrill, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin; a daughter, Carol Keune; three grandchildren, David Keune, Greg Smith, and Tami Taranza; two brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 14, at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Newberry Friday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Father Frank Ricca officiated.

Rite of Committal followed at Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry.
