Brimley Bays Girls, Cedarville Trojans Boys Race to EUPC Track Titles

The Brimley Bays girls and Cedarville Trojans boys raced to the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference track and field championships Thursday, May 21, at Pickford.

Girls team results: The Bays won 12 events en route to a total of 83 points, followed by the host Panthers with 54.5, Engadine 18.5, Cedarville 12, Mackinac Island 4, Maplewood Baptist Academy 2, and DeTour 1.

Boys team results: The Trojans finished first in eight events with 75 points, followed by Pickford with 38.5, DeTour 22.5, Brimley 18, Engadine 11, Mackinac Island 10, and Maplewood Baptist Academy 0.

Girls Individual Results

Brimley Bays: Miranda Reattoir, first in 800 in (2:39.90), first in 1600 in (5:52.90), second in 3200; Becca Carruthers, first in high hurdles (18.05), first in low hurdles in (55.41); Jessica Graham, first in 200 in (27.73), first in high jump at (4'10"); Rachel Carruthers, first in 400 in (1:07.10), first in long jump (13'9.5"); Alexis Mason, first in 100 in (13.40); Lynnette Carrick, second in 1600 and 3200; Sydney Beaune, second in discus; Whitney Gravelle, second in shot put; Kelly Graham, third in 800 and 1600; Tyffanie Wilson, third in discus. The Bays won three relays that included 400 in (58.20), 800 in (1:57.16), and 1600 relay in (4:38.46), and placed second in the 3200 relay.

Pickford Panthers: Katie Jenkins, first in discus at (92'6"), first in shot put at (32'6.5"); Brandi Kopitz, first in 3200 in (12:42.46); Kristen Cline, second in 200 and third in 100; Justine Hatfield, second in high jump, third in long jump; Stacey Beard, second in 400; Jasmine Ledy, second in 800; Katie Raynard, second in pole vault; Amber Colosky, third in high jump; Amanda Felty, third in pole vault; Rileigh TenEyck, fourth in pole vault; Kristi Gough, fourth in low hurdles; Kelsie Brown, fourth in the 400. The Panthers won the 3200 relay in (10:53.00) and finished second in the 400, 800, 1600 relay events.

Engadine Eagles: Katie Hobbs, second in the low hurdles, third in 400, fourth in low hurdles; Lauren MacArthur, second in high hurdles, third in high jump; Tia Browning, second in 100, third in 200; Morgan MacArthur, fourth in 400; Krista Metcalf, fourth in high hurdles; Jackie Formolo, fourth in shot put. The Eagles 800 relay finished third.

Cedarville Trojans: Jillian Collins, first in pole vault at (7'6"); Kharizma Labinski, third in low and high hurdles; Erin Currie, fourth in long jump and 3200.

Mackinac Island: Michi Mullings, second in long jump; Zhane Nash, fourth in 100.

Maplewood Baptist Black Bears: Becky Rader, third in shot put.

DeTour Raiders: Sarah Reed, fourth in discus.

Boys Individual Results

Cedarville Trojans: C.J. Paquin, first in 100 in (11.46), first in long jump at (17'7"), second in the 200, third in high jump; Jordan Baker, first in high hurdles in (16.73), first in high jump at (5'8"); Tyler Kanitz, first in low hurdles in (45.31), second in high hurdles; Michael Kenny, first in pole vault at (10'0"); Luke Murray, second in 1600 and third in 800; Charlie Nelson, second in 400; Matt Schlosser, second in 3200; Matt Hill, third in pole vault; Zach McFarlane, fourth in long jump; Andrew Figures, fourth in discus; Adam Dingman, fourth in 100. The Trojans won the 1600 relay in (3:53.03) and first in 3200 relay in (9:39.98), and second in the 400 and 800 relays.

Pickford Panthers: Mickael Cantin, first in shot put at (42'3"), second in discus; Jordan LaVigne, second in long jump and 200; Paul Morrison, second in low hurdles, third in high hurdles; Brandon Hickman, second in 800; Tim Gough third in 3200, fourth in 1600; Cody Beck, fourth in pole vault; Jared Bush, fourth in high jump; Issac Leach, fourth in 400; Paul Morrison, fourth in low hurdles; Sam Carter, fourth in high hurdles. The Panthers 400 relay won in (49.40) and the 800 placed first in (1:44.52), and the 3200 took third.

DeTour Raiders: Sam Peterson won the 400 in (59.57), third in 100, fourth in 200 and high jump; Tyler Anderson, second in high jump and pole vault, third in long jump; Chase Livingston, third in 1600, fourth in 800; Harry Reinfelder, third in discus, fourth in shot put.

Brimley Bays: Keith Swendson, first in 1600 in (5:02.15), first in 3200 in (10:35.98); Justin Graham, third in 400. The Bays 1600 and 3200 relay teams finished second.

Engadine Eagles: Michael Klobucher, first in discus in (132'3.5"), second in shot put; Keith Hollingshead, third in low hurdles; Jeffrey Dishaw, fourth in 3200.

Mackinac Island Lakers: Robert Chambers, first in the 200 in 24.54, second in 100; Michael Gamble, third in shot put.
