Paleo Joe To Speak at St. Ignace Library July 6
Paleontologist Joseph "Paleo Joe" Kchodl will speak Monday, July 6, at 7 p.m. at the St. Ignace Public Library.
He will bring his collection of fossils and artifacts from his digs all over the world, and introduce children to animals, plants, and creatures that have been extinct for millions of years.
What started out as a fondness for exploring his neighborhood as a child turned into a career in paleontology and education. Dressed the part, he travels to schools and libraries speaking about paleontol- ogy.
He also participates in digs with other paleontologists and has helped discover an 11-million-year old rhino in Nebraska, and the remains of a 60-foot long Camerasaurus in Utah.
He has also written children's book such as "Hidden Dinosaur," and his chapter book series, "PaleoJoe's Dinosaur Detective Club."
The library program is free of charge.
