Watershed Council Will Meet July 30
The Les Cheneaux Watershed Council is holding its annual meeting at the Clark Township Community Center Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. The group will discuss goals it accomplished in the past year as well as its plans for the future.
The group will discuss its participation in the state funded Les Cheneaux Watershed Imple - mentation Project through the Clean Water Act. Since 2007, the group has worked with the Chippewa/East Mackinac Con - servation District to complete various watershed protection projects. The implementation project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2009.
Projects the nonprofit council has worked on include household hazardous waste collections, road and stream crossing improvements, stream restoration, wastewater management, a water quality database, Cedarville Bay restoration, and developing and distributing information about better septic system management.
