Amy Scott Amy Scott was appointed superintendent of schools at Les Cheneaux Community Schools during a special board of education meeting Monday, July 27. Mrs. Scott will step in Tuesday, September 1, taking over from Rod Goehmann, who has held the post since 2001. Mr. Goehmann, part-time superintendent for the Les Cheneaux and DeTour school districts, announced July 7 he will leave at the end of the summer to teach middle school in Rogers City.

Mrs. Scott will also serve as principal and chief academic officer.

The board of education voted 5- 0 to divide the duties of the superintendent between Mrs. Scott and district business manager Kris Hill. Mrs. Scott will be responsible for the academic and curriculum duties while Mrs. Hill will take over business and operations duties as district facilities manager.

Mrs. Scott joined the district staff last year as principal of the elementary, middle, and high schools. She will replace Mr. Goehmann who has been in the position since 2001.

Board members Dave Murray and Carl McIntire did not attend the special meeting.
