Sara Ann Dobbrastine
Sara Dobbrastine, pictured with her fiancé, Daniel Curry II. He survives her. Sara Ann Dobbrastine, 24, of Kent City, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle on South Gould City Road in Newton Township.
Ms. Dobbrastine was born May 6, 1985, in Sheridan to Kerry Allen and Kathryn Ann (nee Smyth) Dobbrastine. She was reared in the Six Lakes area, was graduated from Montabella High School in 2003, and attended Montcalm Community College. She worked as a parts driver for a Napa Auto Store in Comstock Park and previously worked for the Red Hot Inn, Maxine's, and BP in Comstock Park, and for the Homestead Restaurant in her teen years.
Ms. Dobbrastine enjoyed walking and playing with her dogs, Jack Russell terriers, visiting her friends and family, cooking out, camping, cheerleading, and running. She loved nature and animals and hoped to one day become a veterinarian.
She was engaged to Daniel Scott Curry II of Kent City, and the couple was planning to marry August 15, with the ceremony to be held in her parents' yard.
Ms. Dobbrastine is survived by her parents; her fiance; her brother, David Dobbrastine of Texas; her dog, Lucy; her grandfather, Vince Smyth of Six Lakes; her grandmother, Vivian Dobbrastine of Six Lakes, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Theresa Smyth; her grandfather, Martin Dobbrastine, and her dog, Scooter.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Brigham Funeral Chapel. A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes with Pastor James Massengill officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.
Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Sara Dobbrastine Memorial Fund, which has been set up at the Community First Credit Union in Lakeview.
