The new hospital on North State Street in St. Ignace begins to take shape, with about 80 workers laying brick, installing pipe, hooking up wiring, and placing studs and drywall each day. About 90% of the exterior brick work is now finished, said project superintendent Charlie Livernois from Skanska, and the building is ahead of schedule, with a planned move-in date in mid-March for Mackinac Straits Hospital and the Tribal Health Center.
