Engadine Consolidated Schools

HOME OF THE EAGLES•KNOWLEDGE LETS YOU SOAR
by Angie McArthur Superintendent

Summer is really flying by. School starts Tuesday, September 8, the day after Labor Day. Recommended school supplies are listed on the school’s Web site at http://engadine.eup.k12. mi.us/engadine. These are not required, but only suggestions for parents. There is a school calendar on the Web site, however, due to negotiations, this is still tentative. We will update the Web site as scheduling becomes available.

Students in grades six to 12 in physical education class or in a school sport will need to provide their own locks for their lockers.

Last week, a gentleman came into the school office and donated some boxes of school supplies. He did not want to give his name. Our students will appreciate the donation.

Busing schedules are being finalized. We will have four bus routes again this year. Each route will be a little shorter than last year, and there will be some shifting of drivers. Please be patient as we get the routes finalized. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we make minor changes to the routes. Pick-up times should be available by Tuesday, August 25.

I’d like to commend the incoming senior class of 2010. Last spring, the students took the Michigan Merit Examination, and we recently received the statewide results. In comparing our students’ scores in the subjects of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, our students exceeded the state percentages of proficiency in all areas. Congratulations to these students. Keep up the good work.

The eight-man football game against Carsonville-Port Sanilac is Saturday, August 29, at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in buying tickets in advance is asked to call call Cheryl Adams at 477-6313. We’re getting excited for the new school year filled with new opportunities for our students. Go Eagles!
