The Gold Wing Road Riders Association will visit St. Ignace on a Midnight Ride to raise awareness and funds to support the fight against juvenile diabetes Saturday, August 22.

During the weekend, nearly 900 riders will participate in a ride from Grand Rapids to St. Ignace, where they enjoy activities set up for them at Kewadin Casino. A breakfast will take place Saturday morning and a barbecue will be offered from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds from both events are given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Last year, $3,509.81 was donated by the casino and the group raised $24,500 from the ride through T-shirt sales and donations.

The fundraiser at the casino is open to the public.
