Dave Movalson was reacquainted with Warren Smith last week after more than 50 years. He and his wife have a home on Big Brevoort Lake.

Jill and Paul Gustafson have a new Brittany pup by the name of Izzie.

Joe Chalmers visited with Dave Movalson Sunday afternoon, August 23. They discussed many subjects.

Horst and Ingrid Daemmrich joined friends for lunch last Sunday.

Mark Spencer the elder, Mark Spencer the younger, and Gary Revord attended the Trappers Association meeting in Evart last week.

John and Pega Kennedy, John and Carol Watson, and Tom and Joyce Gustafson attended the opening ceremonies at the Vietnam Memorial Wall at Kewadin Casino in St. Ignace this past weekend.

Pat and Gordan Knight had family from downstate visit them last week. They enjoyed Petey the peacock’s visit every once in a while. Pat remarks how the beach changes so often. One day there will be sand, then the lake gets rough and pulls the sand out and the rocks pop up again.

Glen and Claudia Wiseman of South Lyon are at the Green cottage this week. They’re involved in a turtle hatching program in Florida.

Joe Matelski and Mort Becker are finishing up the pole barn at Tom Gustafson’s. Mort discovered bear tracks around the building.

Three semitrucks hauling the Budweiser horses rolled slowly through Brevort Monday morning, August 24, Joyce Gustafson reported.

Jackie and Denny Rippett and Sally Conklin traveled to Paradise to the Blueberry Festival Saturday, August 22.

Jamica Diamond shared with me some of the plans for the Indian park she and Gary Revord will be working on starting this year. One teepee is in place, filled with artifacts, and land is being cleared for future projects.

Lorie Quigley entertained Kathy Eagle, Kay Allott and a friend, Wilma, and family, and Tracy Movalson for dinner Sunday evening, August 23.

Kelli Movalson of Howell ran the 5K race at the Howell Melon Festival last week. It was Kelli’s first race; her goal was to finish, and she did. Zach Movalson ran an eight-minute mile in his first race and finished fourth. Congratulations to both.

Happy birthday to Bob Jarzynka August 27, Marilyn (nee Movalson) DuMond September 1, and Joan Spencer September 7.

Happy anniversary to Ken and Sharon Smith September 3, Joe and Sharon Chalmers September 5, and Eric and Kelli Movalson September 7.
