Ninth grade student Mary Firack, daughter of Daniel and Rosemarie Firack, is the winner of the DeTour Happy Apple Day logo contest for art students.

Her winning design will be seen throughout DeTour Village and the surrounding area over the next month. Buttons promoting Happy Apple Day and displaying Miss Firack’s happy apples and bright blue background are now being sold for $2 each at events and businesses throughout DeTour Village.

The EUP Fine Arts Council sponsored the logo design contest. Proceeds from the sale of the buttons will be split between the art department at the DeTour School and event advertising and start-up costs.
