Plans made by local Star Line employees Mike North and Craig Skutt water-ski and tube behind a ferry boat to Mackinac Island were rescheduled from the original date of Saturday, August 22, to the following Saturday.

Mr. North said weather was the major factor in making the decision, since forecasts called for high winds and waves on the Straits of Mackinac last weekend. One benefit, he said, to pushing the event back is that it will give him and others involved more time to sell tickets aboard the boat for residents and visitors to witness the stunt.

Proceeds from these ticket sales will go to benefit the St. Ignace Friends of the Animals Pet-Fix program and the Festivals and Fireworks campaign. Tickets are available from Star Line at 643-7635 and the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce at 643- 8717.

The event is rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, although the men said weather may force them to reschedule again, though they are anxious to get out on the water.

"I'm ready to do it," Mr. North said. "Even if it is a little choppy, I think we'll give it a try, anyway."
