Megan and Edward LaRocque
Megan Elizabeth Elliott and Edward John LaRocque, of Charlotte, North Carolina, were united in marriage Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Lighthouse Pointe, St. Ignace. The Reverend Peter Carli officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bradford G. and Janet Elliott of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and was given away by her father.
Matron of honor was Laura Elliott Fry of Cleveland, Ohio, and bridesmaids were Stephanie Ripperton of Charlotte, Beth Hickman of Bethany Beach, Delaware, and Denise Ungerer of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Flower girls were Allison Loebach of Charlotte and Tracy West of St. Ignace. Honorary attendants were the groom’s sisters, Bridget West of St. Ignace and Caroline LaRocque, of Sault Ste. Marie.
The groom’s father, Billy LaRocque, served as best man. He was accompanied by groomsmen Michael LaRocque and Thomas LaRocque, both of Richmond, Virginia, and Kevin LaChapelle of Raleigh, North Carolina. James LaRocque of St. Ignace served as usher.
A reception followed under the tents at Lighthouse Pointe.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents on the eve of the wedding at Lighthouse Pointe.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, and is employed as a project manager with Cunningham Associates/Recreation Concepts in Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of James Behrens and Mary Stone of Chassell, and Charlotte.
The groom is the son of Billy and Margaret LaRocque of St. Ignace. He attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette and is a supervisor with Playmore, Inc. in Charlotte.
The newlyweds are planning to honeymoon next year and have made their home in Charlotte.
