I received news from Pudge Pechta that she and her husband, Art, hosted a family reunion at their cabin on Brevort Lake. Approximately 30 relatives of the Pechta and Peach families attended from as far away as Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. Attending from St. Ignace were Shirley Bentgen, Sis Brown, Jack and Barbara Bentgen, and Bruce Bentgen, who brought along his famous homemade pies. A few guests camped for five days. Pudge’s great-niece, Cameron Marchi of California, celebrated her birthday, in which a Hawaiian theme was enjoyed by all. Balloon decorations in animal shapes were made by Mary Jane Clement. Everyone left with smiles and lots of memories.
Dottie Glashaw had a fun day last week as she ventured to the outdoor waterpark in Mackinaw City. She says she can still ride the bicycle backwards, no matter what age.
