Hello, everyone. What beautiful weather we’ve had the past couple of weeks.

The Gould City Eagles will have a fish fry Friday, September 18. Dinners begin at 4 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Everyone is invited to the Newberry Eagles Riders Group smoke-out Saturday, September 19, at the Newberry Eagles Club. There will be free camping spaces, dinner for $6 per plate, bike games ($2 to enter), and 50/50 raffle. For more information, call (906) 293- 8674 or (906) 293-2572.

Newberry High School will host its annual College Fair Monday, September 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Numerous admission representatives from universities and collegesthroughout Michigan will gather in the J.L. DeCook Gymnasium to answer questions and provide information to junior and senior students, parents, and teachers. Students from Engadine, Paradise, and Grand Marais have also been invited to attend. The Gould City Eagles Aerie 4483 will have an Autumn Fest Saturday, September 26, at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass, if possible. For more information, questions, or to help volunteer, please call Julie at (906) 477-6959.

The third annual Oktoberfest will be Saturday, September 26, from noon to 8 p.m. in Curtis.

Everyone is welcome to the Manistique Lakes Lions Club allyou can-eat brunch Sunday, September 20, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the community building in Curtis. There also will be a bake sale.

St. John Catholic Church of Garden will have an annual Harvest Dinner Sunday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garden Community Building.

A "Dig Pink!" Engadine Eagles girls volleyball game will benefit the cause of cancer research Thursday, October 8, at 6 p.m. at the Engadine High School gymnasium. This event is sponsored by the Naubinway Family Health Clinic, Mackinac Straits Health Care System, and Helen Newberry Joy Hospital.
