Rexton-Garnet
The red sun slowly setting in the sky makes a perfect backdrop to a great Upper Peninsula picture of bales of hay, perfectly round, standing silently in the freshly mowed field, leaves turning orange around the edges, the sounds of Friday night football games, and the last of the farmers harvest displayed at the Saturday market -- almost like a brochure featuring all the U.P. is about. For the last few weeks we have had warm temperatures and sunny days to enjoy these sights. We are blessed to call this home.

Hello to the folks at the Jackson compound on the corner of Borgstrom Road and Hiawatha Trail, and to the large contingent of folks at Hubie’s place.

Deb DeWyse was guest speaker at the Northern Michigan Women’s Retreat at Pickford this past weekend, where women from the U.P. as well as northern lower Michigan gathered to renew their spirits in a beautiful setting.
Baseball at Comerica Park was the order of the day for Denny Vowell and his sons, Brian and Denny, and Ron Pongracz and his son, Ronnie, cheering on the Detroit Tigers. I understand the Tigers lost, but the day and the game were great.
Continued get well wishes to Mary Hart and Ann Cross, both of whom have had hospital stays recently.

Here over the holiday were Mike and Cathy Kolomitz and MaryJane Cook, who enjoyed spending time with the girls’ mother, Mary Ellen Stephenson.
