Rudyard and St. Ignace battled hard during the Straits Area Conference volleyball match before the host Bulldogs defeated the Saints 16-25, 25-21, 25-19, 23-25, and 15-11 Thursday, September 10.

Bays Sweep Panthers in EUPC Volleyball Match
The Brimley Bays swept the Pickford Panthers 25-17, 25-23, and 25-12 during an Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference volleyball match Tuesday, September 8.
Bays statistics: Stephanie Lynn, four aces, 11 kills; Ellen Routhier, four aces, 28 assists; Jessica Graham, four aces, seven kills, three blocks; Jessica Noyce, Whitney Frazier, Lynnette Carrick, four kills.

"We put in a great team effort against Pickford," said Bays Coach Rhonda Amble. "Ellen Routhier, Stephanie Lynn, Jessica Graham, and Sydney Beaune continue to be the leaders on the team in their respective positions. It was an all-around great effort from everyone."

Brimley swept the Pickford team 25-23 and 25-17 in the junior varsity match.
Eagles Sweep Rockets, Trojans

The Engadine Eagles improved to 7-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) after sweeping the Rapid River Rockets 25- 13, 25-21, and 25-18 in a nonleague match Tuesday, September 8, and the Cedarville Trojans in the EUPC 25-12, 25-15, and 25-15 Thursday, September 10.

The Mackinac Island Lakers swept the Paradise Rockets during Northern Lights League weekend series 25-19, 25-13, and 25-8 Friday, September 11, and 25-13, 25-11, and 25-12 Saturday, September 12.

The Pickford Panthers posted a Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference win over the DeTour Raiders, going to five matches Thursday, September 10. Scores were 22-25, 25-14, 25- 14, 22-25, and 15-12.
