Dorothy Logan
Dorothy Jean Logan, 82, of Rudyard, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.
She was born November 27, 1926, in Flint, the daughter of Russell and Violet (nee Campbell) Hough.
Mrs. Logan grew up in Chippewa County. She married Archie George Logan November 8, 1946, and they lived near Flint for 30 years, where their family grew up. When Mr. Logan retired, they returned to Rudyard.
Mrs. Logan was a member of the Brimley VFW Post 9023 Auxiliary. She enjoyed crochet and needlepoint projects, baking, playing bingo, going to the casino, snowmobiling, and fishing. With her husband, she enjoyed taking day trips around the area and also made several trips to Nashville, Tennessee, and Branson, Missouri, to enjoy the music there.
She is survived by two daughters and their families, Diana and Benny Lisenbee of Grand Blanc, and Carol Logan of Kincheloe; two sons and their families, Richard and Candy Logan of Flint and Donald Logan of Kincheloe; four grandchildren and their families, Susan and Roman Fodchuk of Montrose, Tracey and Frank Church of Montrose, Michael and Laurie Tucker of Davison, and Betsy Logan of Easton, Pennsylvania; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister and her family, Marjorie and Paul Savoie of Rudyard; three brothers and their families, Gary and Michelle Robbins Hough of Rudyard, Gerald and Marilyn Hough of Marquette, and Kenneth and Charlotte Hough of Holland, Michigan; many nieces and nephews, and a close friend, JoAnn Brown of Sault Ste. Marie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; four brothers, Russell Hough, Jack Hough, Robert Hough, and James Hough; and two sisters, Barbara Weidman and Laura McBride.
In accordance with Mrs. Logan’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Inurnment will be in North Rudyard Cemetery.
Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
