Hello, everyone. Autumn weather paid us a visit this week. It’s hard to believe it's September already. The summer flew by too quickly, but hopefully we'll have an Indian summer.

Newberry Oktoberfest will be Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 4. Live music, dancing, logging competition, food, drinks, and more are planned. Dance admission for a three-day button is $25 or $10 a day. Lunch will be included Sunday. Children age 13 and younger will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. For more information on the event locations, call the Newberry Chamber of Commerce at (906) 293-5562 or (800) 831-7292.

Thursday, October 8, starting at 6 p.m. it's "Dig Pink!” at the Engadine High School. The charity volleyball game between the Engadine Eagles girls and Newberry Indians girls will benefit breast cancer research. This event is sponsored by Helen Newberry Joy Hospital and Naubinway Family Health Clinic- Mackinac Straits Health Care System.
