Helen Phillips, the winner of "The Biggest Loser 7" television show, her daughter, Shannon, and show finalists Ron and Mike Morelli will race across the Mackinac Bridge with other registrants during the first Mackinaw City Fall Colors Bridge Race Saturday, October 10. A meet and greet reception with the celebrity guests for registered racers will take place Friday night, October 9, at from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mackinaw City.

The race is a spin-off of the Mackinaw City Memorial Day race, said events coordinator Courtney Kolatski of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Phillips, who owns a house on Carp Lake, learned of the race when she stopped by the Mackinaw Area Visitors Bureau.

The race will begin at staggered times and will be separated into 12 age divisions. Racers will be given a racing bib, commemorative medal to those who finish, transportation to the starting line, race apparel, breakfast, and race chip technology that records the runners' times. Transportation will leave St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mackinaw City at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and take runners to the starting line in St. Ignace at 7 a.m. Trophies will be given to the top two racers in each division and gender.

Runners can register at the Mackinaw City Visitors Bureau or on its Web site (www.mackinawcity. com) until Thursday, October 8, at midnight. Registrations will also be taken at St. Anthony's Friday, October 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $40.
