Two dozen travel writers and editors representing national and regional media outlets visited the Eastern Upper Peninsula Wednesday, September 30, through Monday, October 5.

The writers were visiting to acqauint themselves with the attractions, cultural institutions, and recreational opportunities available in the Upper Peninsula and to generate media coverage for the state in a variety of travel and lifestyle publications.

Stops on the familiarization tour included sites at Sault Ste. Marie, Cedarville, Whitefish Point, Paradise, Newberry, the Les Cheneaux Islands, and Drummond Island.
