Meister, Hogan Are Named Employees of the Month

Seaman Elizabeth Meister Seaman Elizabeth Meister Seaman Elizabeth Meister and Seaman Patrick Hogan were named Employees of the Month for July and August respectively, for United States Coast Guard Station St. Ignace.

Seaman Meister was commended for her work ethic and positive attitude. Since she has been stationed in St. Ignace, she has demonstrated her dedication to her qualifications, day-to-day work lists, and her shipmates, reported Executive Petty Officer Jonathan Tracy. She assists in the communications room, helping with logs, phone calls, and radio traffic. Her positive attitude shines when long work hours get the best of people, he said. For example, while crew members were working late during a summer fireworks display, she baked cookies for their return.

Seaman Hogan is enthusiastic and has a cheerful demeanor that is an encouragement to the rest of the crew, reported Executive Petty Officer Tracy. He is willing to tackle any given task and see it through to completion. He is a mentor to his shipmates in many areas such as seamanship, weaponry, and boat crew skills. He has shown dedication to the Coast Guard’s core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty.
