Army Sergeant Kenneth Steinert has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Petoskey. Sgt. Steinert, a recruiter prospector, is assigned to the U. S. Army Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion, Lansing. He has served in the military for five years.

He is the son of Teresa Richter and stepson of Mike Richter of Bay City. His wife, Allisa, is the daughter of Gerry and Cindy Smith of Engadine.

He is a 2004 graduate of Wenona Adult Education Center in Bay City.
