Panthers Post League Win; Bays, Eagles Fall

The trio of Pickford running backs Dylan Rye, Jordan LaVigne, and Charlie Halsey combined for 291 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a Friday, October 2, 30-0 Mid- Eastern Football League (MEFL) win over the North Central Jets. The game was played at Pickford.
Pickford, 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the MEFL, took a 8-0 lead at 10:23 of the first quarter on a Lavigne five-yard scoring run. Halsey added the two-point conversion.
The Panthers increased their lead to 14-0 at halftime on a Dylan McBride four-yard run and Pickford added two third-quarter touchdowns as Halsey scored from three yards out and Rye on a three-yard run. Lavigne and Halsey tallied the two-point conversions.
Panthers' offensive statistics: Dylan Rye, 17 carries for 99 yards; Jordan Lavigne, 14 carries for 96 yards; Charlie Halsey, 13 carries for 96 yards; Ryan Mc- Bride, two carries for 10 yards.
Panthers defensive statistics: Jordan LaVigne, eight tackles, one fumble recovery; Jon Kelly, seven tackles; Tyler Kauffman, six tackles; Dylan Rye, five tackles; Cody Becks, Ben Eckola, four tackles; Charlie Helsey, two tackles, one fumble recovery.
Pickford will entertain Engadine in a MEFL contest Friday, October 9.
Bays, Eagles Drop
MEFL Games
The Brimley Bays fell to the Rapid River Rockets 36-6 and the Engadine Eagles were defeated by the Bark River-Harris Broncos 42- 0 during Mid-Eastern Football League contests Friday, October 2.
Senior Jory Amo scored on a six-yard run in the fourth quarter and rushed for 131 yards to lead the Bays offense.
The Eagles played without the services of Phillip Hood, who suffered a neck injury against North Central last week.
Brimley will travel to North Central and Engadine will battle Pickford in a road contest Friday, October 9.
