The Rudyard boys and Cheboygan girls captured first place during the St. Ignace cross country invitational at Mackinac Bridge View Park Tuesday, September 29.

Sarah Cullip and Nicole Elmblad continued their pace as the top area female runners. This week, Cullip took first and Elmblad second to lead the Saints to a second-place finish.

Boys team scoring: Rudyard totaled 42 points, followed by Sault Ste. Marie with 69, Cedarville 110, Mackinaw City 123, Cheboygan 132, St. Ignace 145, Newberry 150, Rogers City 183, Pickford 209, and DeTour 232. Seth Duncan of Cheboygan won the boys meet with a time of 17:32 and Corey Gage of Newberry took second in 17:43.

Leah Jarvie of Rudyard took fifth place. Girls team scoring: Cheboygan posted 65 points, followed by St. Ignace with 76, Rudyard 83, Cedarville 126, Rogers City 142, Sault Ste. Marie 130, Pickford 139, Mackinaw City 149, and Newberry 153.
