Rudyard Boys, Cheboygan Girls Win Saints XC Invitational

The Rudyard boys and Cheboygan girls captured first place during the St. Ignace cross country invitational at Mackinac Bridge View Park Tuesday, September 29.

Sarah Cullip and Nicole Elmblad continued their pace as the top area female runners. This week, Cullip took first and Elmblad second to lead the Saints to a second-place finish.

Boys team scoring: Rudyard totaled 42 points, followed by Sault Ste. Marie with 69, Cedarville 110, Mackinaw City 123, Cheboygan 132, St. Ignace 145, Newberry 150, Rogers City 183, Pickford 209, and DeTour 232. Seth Duncan of Cheboygan won the boys meet with a time of 17:32 and Corey Gage of Newberry took second in 17:43.

Win Triangular Meet

The Mackinaw City boys took first place during a home triangular meet Thursday, October 1.

The Comets totaled 30 points, followed by Cedarville with 34, and Pickford with 62.

Boyne City won the Thursday, October 1 quadrangular meet at Mackinaw City with 44 points, followed by Cedarville with 52, Mackinaw City 64, and Pickford 96.
