Dennis ‘Denny’ Hull
Dennis Lee “Denny” Hull, 78, of Drummond Island, died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at his home.
He was born February 5, 1931, in Moundsville, West Virginia, to Charles Edwin and Flora Mae (nee Dummer) Hull.
Mr. Hull grew up in West Virginia and served in Korea with the United States Army from 1952 to 1953. After his military service, he moved to the Detroit area to work in the automotive industry.
He married Charlotte Hartig June 7, 1958 in Detroit and owned and operated Brent Tool & Die Company from 1966 to 1991, where his children worked with him. He semi-retired in 1987 and moved to Drummond Island, where he had been visiting for vacations since the early 1950s.
Mr. Hull was a member of the Drummond Island Moose and Sportsman's clubs. He loved fishing and enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, and time on his boat, where his CB handle was “The Whaler.”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and his family, Brent and Donna Hull of Utica; two daughters and their families, Lisa and John Kelsey of Sault Ste. Marie and Kelly Hull of Dryden; five grandchildren and their families, Karen and Thomas Bennent, Angela and Shawn Puwal, Bradley and Ashley Hull, Autumn Hull, and Thai Bodany, and two greatgrandchildren, Shawn Jr. and Emma Puwal. He is also survived by three brothers and their families, Haven and Dona Hull of Clinton Township and David Hull and Eric and Bryan Hull, all of Florida.
A memorial service will be Saturday, October 17, at noon at Drummond Island Lutheran Church with visitation starting at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Drummond Island Cemetery.
