Barbara Sircely

Barbara Sircely, 63, of Gaylord, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at Otsego Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 16, 1946, in Pontiac to Royal and Evelyn (nee Hill) McCormick. She grew up in the St. Ignace area.

Mrs. Sircely was a lifetime resident of Michigan and was a member of the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church and the United Methodist Church of New Hudson. She worked at the family business, Otsego Lake Corner Store. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed making cakes and homemade chocolates. Mrs. Sircely enjoyed cooking, sewing, and tending her rose garden. She was very giving, friends said, and loved to spoil her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children and their families, Kip and Angel, Kraig and Suzanne, and Kyle and Sara, all of Gaylord; six grandchildren, Samuel, Rebecca, Destiny, Donavin, Jenna, and Nicholas; her mother, Evelyn Hill; a brother and his family, Patrick McCormick; many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Sircely was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and by her father, Royal McCormick.

Services were Saturday, October 10, at 3 p.m. at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Joe Sereno officiating. Friends gathered at the church prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.

Burial was at Otsego Lake Township Cemetery.
