Cedarville School To Build New Lumber Shed

Meeting Monday, October 19, the Les Cheneaux Board of Education approved spending up to $2,500 of sinking fund money to build a new lumber storage shed for the shop class, which will, in turn, clear room for a new pottery studio. Superintendent Amy Scott said the district received a grant to purchase equipment and supplies for a pottery studio, including a kiln.

The 16-foot by 10-foot shed will be built by students in Gary Wellnitz's shop class, saving the district money on labor. It will be built during the coming weeks in the northeast corner of the school's north parking lot, next to the garage-door to the shop classroom.

Sinking fund monies can only be used for new construction and not for refurbishing projects or supplementing other areas of the budget.
